Latest update from the Wetlands...

Hello Beautiful Ones!

Although it's spring time and the birds are singing, I am sniffing a little cold, because I have gone outside without a jacket just a little too soon :-)
Anyway, with some herbal tea and a good night's sleep this too shall pass.

My friend Danny Cavanagh and I did a couple of special shows last week. On Sunday things were intense, but hectic (as always with Danny). I was already at the Record Store in Delft when his plane touched the ground in Amsterdam and we had to keep rushing from that point on. Nevertheless it was good to perform with him again and both the audiences and ambiance were marvelous!
We made some really nice recordings of those days, who knows, one day we will share them with you all (it wouldn't surprise me if that would actually happen, quite frankly!!!).

As you might already know: we are building our project studio here in our lovely home.
They poured a concrete floor yesterday and up next are the wall frames to create 'a box in a box'. When it comes to building a studio, a lot of research and planning is involved; wall constructions, acoustic room treatment, levels of sound transmission loss... my goodness: I am happy Rob has the brain and stamina for it... haha, but it's gonna be great. I can't wait to rehearse and record here!
I am thinking of a special way to keep you posted regarding the process of building the studio, followed by recording the new album. More on that to come!

So our work is cut out for the summer and we already have a nice amount of new songs waiting to be recorded. My guess is that we will try out some of the new stuff live when we will play our shows in Holland in the coming months.
We will do some acoustic shows, in which we will also play a few of the 'rockier'-songs and we'll do some full rock shows as well.

Also I am currently doing a small 'Instore-tour'. I love to do these. It's cozy, acoustic and a great opportunity to have a chat with everybody.
And then there are some special gigs. The show together with Antimatter is coming up this weekend and on the 5th of June I will be performing the Tibet song again together with one of Holland's most acclaimed bands: Bløf at the Night of Tibet in Amsterdam, where H.H. the Dalai Lama will open the evening. I'm really thrilled to be part of that!
