New single, new dates and (new) guitar player Ruud Jolie
Hi everybody,
Yesterday I played my new single Sunny Side Up live at Giel Beelen's morning show on Radio 3FM. Bert Selen at L.A. based Reach Interactive made an upbeat single edit. It's a great new arrangement and I love playing it live. Check the video here. All profits of the single will be going to Chile. You can download it at the Nokia Music Store and also on iTunes. I assure you the money will be well used! The producers of the radio show asked me if I was willing to play a cover song. I chose to do a version of Just Breathe by the amazing Pearl Jam. It was great fun. The show starts at 6 AM, so we had to get up at 4 AM to drive 2 hours to the radio station (insane! haha).
Later that day I went to the Amsterdam Conservatory to teach and watch my students performing at a concert later that night. I also got introduced to Fiction Plane singer Joe Sumner (actually Sting's son), who turned out to be a very nice and inspiring guy.
Now for some gigging news;
I'm happy to announce that Agua de Annique will do a full band show in Istanbul, Turkey on April 30 at Rock'n Dark 2010 together with Hayko Cepkin.
This will be the first Agua de Annique full band gig in Turkey and I can't wait!
My acoustic solo gigs over there last December were a huge success and a lot of fun.
During this show we will be joined by guitarist Ruud Jolie (Within Temptation). A week ago Ruud got the nod to join Agua de Annique during Joris' parental leave this spring/summer. I'm very excited to go out and play with Ruud, who is both a great guitar player and a very nice guy.
On May 22 we will play at the Vlaamse Reuzen Hollandse Leeuwen Festival - 013 venue in Tilburg (NL). We are also busy finalising some French/Spanish shows the week leading up to that festival. Keep an eye on our website, more info coming soon!
Finally: expect some South American acoustic shows together with Danny Cavanagh around the first of June! We are nailing down the dates as we speak ; ()
