Meet & Greet Contest

Hey peeps,

Here comes the summer!

I'm pretty busy preparing the Annie-Danny gigs in South America. Exciting!

Rob got nominated for best Dutch drummer of the year. The award is called 'Duiveltje' (Little Devil). Check the website here. One of the nominees for best singer may sound familiar as well?!? (Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more!) Oh yeah, only fellow-musicians can vote.

Now, competition time!

Download the Sunny Side Up single edit at the iTunes store (made by Bert Selen from Reach Interactive) and enter for a chance to meet me and my band after our show at the Vlaamse Reuzen Hollandse Leeuwen Festival May 22 at the 013 Venue in Tilburg (NL). All profits of the single will be going to Chile.

Send a print screen of your receipt to and get a chance to win the tickets plus meet & greet.

Since I will be gigging in France a few days prior to this festival, I will bring some matching wine with cheese for us to enjoy together backstage. I could use some tips on good French wines and cheese, so please dear Frenchies: leave your suggestions as a comment!

"Hi, i live in Mâcon (Burgundy) , we have good wines and good cheeses :) In white wine, I can advise you a good Pouilly-Fuissé or a Saint-Véran. For red wine, we have a lot of good wines (Gevrey Chambertin, Mercurey, Givry ...). Only the price is a limit. For cheese, our specialty is goat cheese with "Maconnais", which has just obtained its AOC in 2006. If you want some good address, I can advise you t00n"

"Hi ! Very good advice from t00n ;) I personally prefer red wine with those kind of cheese. You can also try a more "spicy" cheese like "roquefort". Or a more soft one like "morbier" or "saint nectaire". Regards"

"Hi dear Anneke ! I remember a delicious experience with a piece of"Comté du Jura" (make sure to choose a 24 months old ! So tasty !!!) and a bottle of "Vin du Jura". Can't remember the name of this specific bottle but wines of Jura are known for their exceptional taste of walnut. mmmm....now i'm hungry...."

"Hey! Do you know where you can also find good wines? -> Spain. So go down the road a little bit once you’re in France ;) Seriously… knowing how bad our promoters (usually) work, I wonder if you finally will be able to come here. I’m starting to feel a bit nervous :( "

"Hey Annie!! I'd love to vote for you and Rob, but the voters must be only members of dutch bands... =( "Bijzonder is dat de prijswinnaars niet - zoals bij andere verkiezingen - worden gekozen door een jury of het publiek, maar juist door hun collega-muzikanten." Good luck anyway, I know you're the best ;) Will there be a Meet & Greet for the Chilean concert? I'd be glad to finally look into your eyes and faint XD"

"Hello! I live in french Alps where you can find the best cheeses of the world. You can have some Beaufort, Reblochon and Tome (especially from the mountains "Les Bauges"). Reblochon and Tome are not expensive and have a lot of various flavour. You can drink some Côtes-du-Rhônes as Saint-Joseph, Cairannes or more expensive Beaumes de Venise and Chateau-neuf Du Pape."

"Hello Anneke ! A great tip to enjoy french wine and cheese is to add some dried fruits on the side, as grapes, apricot, almonds and walnut. It brings richest flavours to a tasting experience you'll never forget. Well, enjoy and see you next month in Paris. Bye !"

"Anneke, I live in Angers (western France). In this corner of France known as Anjou there is also a very good wine. My preference is for sweet white wine: the "Coteau du Layon", "Coteau de l'Aubance. I also like the wine from Alsace (eastern France), especially the "Gewurztraminer. I will be in concert May 21 in Paris, but I think the guards will not be too agree if I bring wine :-( I think you have the choice now to make a good tasting. See You soon"
