Anneke van Giersbergen signs with PIAS

PIAS is proud to announce that they signed Dutch singer Anneke van Giersbergen to a solo deal. Léon Happé, General Manager at PIAS Holland, had been in talks with Anneke for quite some time and is excited: "It's a privilege for any record label to get the opportunity to work with a person/artist like Anneke. There's so much beauty in her personality, her voice and her appearance. I've personally known Anneke for years and this is a wish come true. All of us are really looking forward to working with such an experienced person."

Anneke is confident about this new collaboration as well: "As an artist you feel immediately at home with PIAS. They really do love music, which immediately creates a personal connection. I know Léon from the days he was working as a sound technician. He knows exactly who I am and what I stand for. Together with him and a great team at PIAS, I am currently working on my new album with an incredible amount of enthusiasm."

When Anneke van Giersbergen started her solo career in 2007, she had been fronting Dutch band The Gathering for 13 years. Together with her band Agua de Annique, she has released several outstanding albums in a short time span. Her new album is due in January 2012, the first to be released under her own name. The album promises a whole new side of the vocalist.
